A

Addis Ababa The capital of Ethiopia, in the Ethiopian Highlands. It has a population of about 3.4 million.

Aegean Sea Part of the Mediterranean Sea that lies between Turkey and Greece.

Africa The second largest continent after Asia. Northern Africa is mostly occupied by the Sahara Desert. Farther south, the desert gives way to areas of dry grassland and, nearer the Equator, tropical rainforest. A plateau rises in southern Africa, bordered by mountains in the southeast and desert in the southwest.
