The inlaid gold symbols show the...Read More >>The Nebra sky disc, a bronze disc found in Germany in 1999, measures about 30 cm in diameter. The inlaid gold symbols show the Full Moon, a Crescent Moon and the Pleiades star cluster. Dating from around 1600 BC, it is the earliest known depiction of objects in the night sky. It was made by a Bronze Age European people.

Astronomy and astrology are sometimes confused. Astronomy, a science, is the study of celestial objects, such as stars, galaxies, planets, moons and comets. Astrology is the study of the relative positions of celestial objects as a means of predicting human affairs or world events. It has no scientific validity.
