A map of Andorra Andorra lies high in the Pyrenees, the rugged mountains that divide France from Spain. Most people here make a living from the tourist industry: around 10 million people visit Andorra every year to go skiing, snowboarding or hiking. Its location high in the mountains means that the country has a cool, dry Alpine climate. Although there is often snow on the ground, most days are cool and sunny. The official language of Andorra is Catalan, but many people also speak Spanish, Portuguese or French. Nearly everyone is Roman Catholic. Although it has its own government, Andorra’s official rulers are the President of France and the Bishop of Urgell (Spain).
