Q-files, the free homework help kids' encyclopaedia with fun facts, goes online

Reading Q-files on a laptopQ-files is a great help for schoolwork, homework and projects, as well a huge and trustworthy library of general knowledge. The site is divided into nine "files": Prehistoric, History, Culture, Geography, Space, Technology, Science, Life and Earth. To find what you're looking for, enter a search term into the search bar at the top right of any page. You can also hover over one of the scroll-down menus along the top of the page, then click on the subject area you want; you will be taken instantly to the introductory page. All the topics connected to the page you are on are listed in the left-hand column. Click on the links (coloured in the text) to find out more about the highlighted terms. Click on the pictures to enlarge them and read their extended captions. You can also view the pictures (and often some others) in the Q-pics gallery. And don't forget the Q-facts in the right-hand column—a collection of amazing short facts.

Q-files now has new sections specially written for younger readers. They are: Living world, Earth, Science, Human body, Prehistoric life, Space, History, Geography and Technology.
